Peace in the midst of the storm, (Resolutions) a New Earth. A ST Voyager Fan Fiction by R.Marlaine V.Carr,

Third planet,  Janeway monitored her research for finding a vaccine to cure
herself and Chakotay from the insect bites that infected them with a virus.

Kathryn walked to Chakotay, they talked about the planet, the research and about the time when they would let go of being rescued and make the planet their home, New Earth.

Kathryn went off to check the traps, she checked them one by one, the primate of the planet arrived and chattered at her;  his little alive as he pointed upwards with both arms raised and turned to the tree trunk and then back to Kathryn.  She looked at him and smiled.  "Are you trying to tell me something?"  The wind rustled faster now, as if it were angry somehow.  She turned and began to make her way back to the house, the wind and thunder raging now, her footsteps becoming more difficult as she moved against the winds trying to reach safety.  Chakotay raced from the house, as fast as he could, calling.  "Kathryn!"  He continued to move, fighting the elements, he finally reached her, and pulled her along with him.

Reaching their house, he pulled her neath the table and then the storm's fury hit them, they were in the cross hairs of a twisting strange space storm apparently this third planet's atmosphere had a temper at times.  Chakotay held her in his arms as thing flew off the shelves and around them, Kathryn screamed out and covered her mouth, Chakotay protected her, his Kathryn.  She buried her face into his chest as the raging storm shook the house, the ground that trees outside moaned under the fury of the storm.

Kathryn held on for dear life, she had always been afraid of storms, but her Chakotay was there, he was her warrior, he joined her tribe and that was the beginning...

As the storm moved away, Chakotay checked Kathryn gently, he pulled her around and looked in her eyes.  She looked up at him, "We have to check to see what damage has been done...."  She said, as his lips met her's.  He silenced her statement, his steel arms holding onto her as if she would disappear if he ever let go.

Kathryn, returned his kisses, she knew it was finally time to admit defeat in finding a cure, that they were destined to be here, the resolutions of knowing that unless by some miracle Voyager found a cure and returned for them, they were marooned here on New Earth.

Chakotay's arms warm his chest hot, his heart beating wildly within it.  His eyes like deep obsidian pools, and the only name on his lips was "Katheryn."

He picked her up up, and carried her to the door, putting her down; her hand in his they stepped outside to inspect the damage.  The look of defeat on Kathryn's face, spoke volumes.

Turning she looked up at him and said.  "Well, this definitely is the type of situation where one declares defeat; all of the equipment ruined, the samples gone, I cannot continue to search for a cure without the equipment."  Chakotay squeezed her hand and whispered gently.  "We will make a new start, and hopefully, we will live long and productive lives.  I definitely hope so."  He said and smiled crossing his fingers.

She laughed and said.  "Well, time to clean up the place. "

He nodded, "you know I could add on to this house, maybe a log cabin structure, and we can even build a boat."  They worked onwards, clearing and cleaning.  Kathryn checking her tomato plants and looking around, she felt his lips gently on her hair, she closed her eyes, it was their Earth, a new Earth but their's.

He kissed her in the sunlight.  They held hands and raced to the river,  skinny dipping, in the cold waters, they were two children on holiday, trying to forget the Lady in both of their bloodstreams, she sleek and trim, warp capable and fast, voyager her name.

Chakotay reached out and picked a wild iris looking flower and placing it in kathryn's hair he whispered.  "We have our past, we hold Voyager near in here."  he tapped her chest, leaning in he continued,   "and we have each other."  Kissing her lips gently he lay beside her on the mossy river bank and counted clouds as they drifted by.

Mists of Sarin Forest. by Renda Carr

Terra Creed,  left the town at day break.  She reached the Mists and took the Sartell hiking trail.  She used her coordinates checker and proceeded along the path.

The ancient ruins lay higher up the trail in deep foliage.  Ancient Sarin humanoids built it.  Thousands of years,  in the mists.   The bubbling brook alerted Terra to the fact that she was closer to the city Mists....

Early dawn breaking over Mists.... elaborate clouds the energy of the Planet Sarin, always present at Mists, however; they were the most colorful and dancing swirling patterns at the site everyday at sunrise.

Terra stopped to take holovide,   the enchanting city lay before her.  She proceeded to the hall of knowledge which still held remnants of ancient holo scrolls.  Long ago abandoned by its creator's,  for the lush fertile lowlands, Mists was used for sacred gatherings and knowledge seekers, the teachers Sehgal s were the only inhabitants there until an unknown factor , made even the teachers depart Mists.

Starfleet Archeologist s, Geological , Vulcanologists were currently working with the local Sarin Native professionals,  to uncover more of Sarin planet and the sectors past.

Terra, was on a mission to check certain parameters at Mists and add the data to the vast banks of information at Starfleet's Sarin Colony.  She pulled her water bag off her shoulder and started sipping ....  hearing a crackle in the trees, she turned to see local wildlife,  a large red billed song bird with golden feathers topping the crown.  She took holovide of the avian as it meandered through the ancient gardens of shstsal....  drinking from an ancient fountain before taking flight.

Terra sat down to add to her log journal.

Sarin Mists research....

Today is a long Sarstice day for the planet,   Sar beams longer in today's skies before nightfall,  and the Mists are spectacular on these days.  I took readings at the Winter Sarstice a few months ago, and the data is extremely helpful .  Now, I gather more data on the longest day and I am not alone for in the misty fog rising up to meet Sar,  the energy force that is Sarin....

She closed her log and made her way into the hall of knowledge...

End part one.
